I'm looking for three students willing to embark on a 5-day intensive focused on building pottery wheel-throwing skills.

Dates: Monday to Friday, September 14-18, 2026
Time: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Weekly focuses:
Sep 14: Introduction to throwing
Sep 15: Remembering the basics & creating height (possibly trim day 1 pots)
Sep 16: Wall thickness (possibly trim day 2 pots)
Sep 17: How to use rib tools (possibly trim day 3 pots)
Sep 18: Potter's choice

Learning how to trim will be woven in throughout the week.

Included:

  • One piece per lesson (1-2 lb)**
  • All materials and tools
  • Bisque and glaze kiln firings
  • One seasonal glaze per piece

*Wheels are in a small nook area inside Kate's home. Noting this in case of space sensitivities.
** Everyone works at different speeds. For example, a more experienced potter joining this series may produce more pots during the lesson. Each additional piece costs $10+ taxes.

Work will be glazed by ZEAL and available 6 to 8 weeks after the series ends. If participants wish to learn how to glaze, an additional session can be added for a fee.

Pickup can be tracked here: zealcreativestudio.com/pages/my-pottery-status.

Ages: 14+
Duration: 2 hours
Location: ZEAL Creative Studios @ 10055 French Settlement Road, Kemptville, ON, K0G 1J0**
