Committed to supporting youth

ZEAL Creative Studios is committed to supporting youth (ages 14-17) in the community while offering a positive and safe environment. This Energy Exchange Program (EEP) is designed for participants to exchange their time and energy for cumulative rewards based on an individual’s interests.

More information

An EEP is a great way to earn experience on a resume and a chance at a positive reference letter from Kate McNamara, ZEAL’s owner. It’s also an opportunity to receive quality lessons from Kate on pottery, photography, and marketing-related topics.

In exchange for time, rewards will be granted when a certain number of cumulative hours are achieved.

Example rewards:

  • Pottery wheel or hand-building lessons
  • Open studio time
  • Clay & tools
  • Gift cards
  • ZEAL clothing
  • Photoshoots & more

Responsibilities

An EEP participant is the most important part of the day-to-day operations at ZEAL. They are integral to our studio's maintenance, cleanliness, and atmosphere.

General duties typically include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the studio (e.g., floor, tools, etc.)
  • Trimming, sanding, or glazing pots
  • Prepping for and assisting with trade shows
  • Reclaiming clay
  • Sorting or packing orders
  • Taking product photos
  • Uploading products to the website
  • Assist running special events (e.g., workshops or photo mini sessions)

Get involved

We're onboarding 1-2 new youth (ages 14-17) into the program starting August 11, 2025, meeting each Monday from 7-9 pm.
