Camp counsellor

ZEAL is looking for an 18+ year-old independent contractor to help lead a nearly sold-out pottery summer camp just outside of Kemptville, Ontario.

Dates: Monday to Friday from June 29 - July 17 (closed July 1) & August 4 - 28
Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm 
Wage: $17.60 - $20.00 / hour

Responsibilities 

• Prepare materials and ensure all supplies are available for the activities
• Enforce safety guidelines for using pottery tools and equipment
• Assist campers with their projects, providing guidance and encouragement
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pottery studio
• Participate in and assist with general camp programming (e.g., games)
• Collaborate with other team members to create a positive camp experience
  

Qualifications

• Current or previous work experience in a school, daycare, or other related setting with children
• Strong communications and time-management skills 
  
• Ability to manage a group of children and maintain a safe environment 
• Patience, creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude 
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing schedules and activities 
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb. clay boxes (dolly available) and water buckets 

Additional assets 

• Familiarity attending or working at kids camps

Must have's (or be willing to obtain)

• First aid course
