Camp Behaviour Guidelines
At camp, our goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and fun environment where every camper can learn, play, and make new friends. We understand that children may need reminders and support as they adjust to camp routines. Our staff will work with campers to encourage positive choices using the following progressive approach:
- REMINDER – Staff will provide a gentle reminder of the camp expectation and help the camper make a positive choice.
- WARNING – If the behaviour continues, the camper will receive a clear warning and be told what the next step will be.
- REFLECTION BREAK OR LOSS OF PRIVILEGE – The camper may take a short break from the activity or miss part of a preferred activity to reflect before returning to the group.
- PARENT/GUARDIAN CONTACT – If concerns continue, camp leadership will contact a parent or guardian to discuss the behaviour and work together to support the camper's success.
- DISMISSAL FROM CAMP – In rare cases, if a camper's behaviour continues despite these interventions, or if their behaviour affects the safety, well-being, or camp experience of themselves, other campers, or staff, they may be dismissed from camp at the discretion of the Camp Director.
Some behaviours require immediate action and may result in a camper being sent home without progressing through the steps above. These include physical aggression, bullying, threats, leaving supervised areas without permission, possession of prohibited or dangerous items, intentional property damage, or any behaviour that places the safety of others at risk.
We value open communication and will always strive to work together with families to help campers have a positive and successful camp experience. However, the safety and well-being of all campers and staff remain our top priority.
The Camp Director reserves the right to amend this policy or implement new policies if the safety and/or well-being of any camper is at risk.
Refund Policy: Campers who are dismissed from camp due to behavioural concerns are not eligible for a refund for any remaining camp days or missed programming.
