What background options are there in the studio?

Currently, there is an off-white option and white brick. New backdrops will be added soon.

What should I wear for lifestyle photos?

In-studio

  • Aim for solid, dark colours with a light backdrop. Patterns can create an effect called moire (e.g., from stripes or checkers) and be distracting to the eye in photographs

On location

  • Plan your outfits based on location. If the shoot is at home, you may want a more casual, organic feel that represents your day-to-day life. If the shoot is at a beach, maybe a sun hat, blanket, and flowing clothes are the vibe you're going for.

General

  • Don't forget to accessorize. If glasses, watches, jewelry, belts, shoes, scarves, hats, and more can add to your look—go for it!
  • Try to avoid wearing all the same thing (e.g., white shirts all around)! Click here for a great Pinterest link to illustrate some examples of of colour palettes.

Can more people be added for an extended group session?

Absolutely! When you reach out to inquire, please let us know how many people you'd like to be included and we can adjust the pricing accordingly.

Is there an option for exclusivity?

Yes, for an additional fee, your photoshoot can be exclusive. This means ZEAL will not make the photographs public for our portfolio, social media, marketing, blog posts, etc. Please inquire about this before booking a service.

Is there an option to purchase more photos?

Not necessary! You will receive all edited photos in both colour and black and white through PixieSet.

Are there any considerations for pets being photographed?

Great question! Here are a few things to consider, as you know your pet best:

  • Pets are welcomed if they are sociable and have a good temperament.
  • We recommend getting your pet used to the sound of a camera shutter. For example, playing a clip like this often leading up to the shoot, and rewarding them so they associate it with a positive experience. If they don't seem overly comfortable with shutter sounds, it may not be a good fit to bring them into an in-studio photoshoot. On-location where we can use a zoom lens might be more appropriate.
  • Bring their favourite treats and toys along to help support the session.
  • ZEAL will shoot with either natural light or studio lighting, but no flash will be used when pets are involved.
  • Avoid dressing your pet up in anything new or uncomfortable for the photoshoot. It should be something they love and have experienced before.
  • Please keep your pets home if they show any symptoms of kennel cough, or have fleas, ticks, etc.
